Exploratory Factor Analysis of School Administrators’ AGILE Leadership Under the Bangkok Secondary Education Service Area Office 1

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the components of agile leadership under the Bangkok Secondary Educational Service Area Office 1. The sample consisted of 280 school administrators and heads of learning subject groups during the 2025 academic year, selected through multi-stage random sampling. A five-point Likert scale questionnaire was used as the research instrument. The instrument demonstrated strong psychometric properties, with item-objective congruence indices ranging from 0.80 to 1.00, discrimination indices between 0.572 and 0.893, and a reliability coefficient of 0.917. Data were analyzed using exploratory factor analysis, with principal component analysis and orthogonal rotation employing the Varimax rotation method. The results indicated that agile leadership among school administrators comprised four components with a total of 28 observed variables. Those components were identified as: (1) adaptive and proactive strategic competence in change management, (2) inner attitudes and emotional intelligence, (3) empowerment and team development, and (4) creating a positive work environment and mindset. Collectively, these four components accounted for 65.300% of the cumulative variance.
