Developing the Guidelines to Promote Students’ Sufficient Character under the Office of Secondary Educational Service Area 19

Abstract

This purposes of this research were: 1) to study factors and indicators of the sufficient character 2) to study the current and desirable situations of students’ sufficient character 3) to develop the guidelines for promoting students’ sufficient character. The research was designed into 3 phrases. Phrase 1 was to study factors and indicators of the sufficient character. Phrase 2 was to study the current and desirable situations of students’ sufficient character. Phrase 3 was to develop the guidelines to promote students’ sufficient character. Samples in phrase 1 were 5 experts. Phrase 2 contains 322 administrators and teachers randomed by stratified random sampling. Phrase 3 were 5 experts. The research instruments were the questionnaire with 5 rating scale and the appropriate evaluation form. The data were analyzed by percentage, mean, standard deviation and Modified Priority Needs Index.

The research finding indicated that
1. The sufficient character consisted of 5 factors and 27 indicators. The factors were: 1) sufficient living including 6 indicators 2) rational and carefully living including 5 indicators 3) immunity for living including 5 indicators 4) apply moral conducts for living including 6 indicators,and 5) apply approrpriate knowledges for living including 5 indicators. Both factors and indicators were evaluated at the highest level of appropriateness. 2. The current situations of students’ sufficient character under the Office of Secondary Educational Service Area 19 as the whole and each factors were the high level. 3. The development of the guidelines for students’ sufficient character under the Office of Secondary Educational Service Area 19 The analysis of Modified Priority Needs Index was found the ranking of needs from highest to the lowest were 1) apply moral conducts for living, 2) sufficient living 3) immunity for living 4) rational and carefully living, and 5) apply approrpriate knowledges for living.

The evaluation of the guidelines for students’ sufficient character were at the highest level of appropriateness and high level of feasibility.
