Guidelines on Applying Information and Communication Technology in Improving the Quality of Life of Thakhonyang Women Group

Abstract

This research project aims to study the needs for and guidelines on applying information and communication technology (ICT) to improve the quality of life of the members of Thankhonyang women group. We studied the needs for ICT from the sample population of 300 members from Thakhonyang Women group in Kantarawichai District, Maha Sarakham. Moreover, 3 experts and 10 leaders of the Women group provided the guidelines on applying ICT to the group. The research instrument used was the Likert scale questionnaire and Interview. The statistical methods used in the data analysis were mean and standard deviation. Research findings are the use of ICT in the Women group is at the fair level; the problem in applying ICT to improve the quality of life of the group members is at the high level ; the need to apply ICT to improve the quality of life of the Women group is at the highest level. Finally, the guidelines on applying ICT to improve the quality of life of the Women group that match the needs of the studied population are promoting the use of new technology in daily life; organizing an ICT training; educating the use of ICT to advertise local products, especially through social media, to increase their values; promoting the organization of local technology learning center as the place for technology education and information exchange; promoting the organization of the network between the community and universities in which professors, students, and personnel can exchange their knowledge with the community; promoting the organization of local commercial network for the efficiency and effectiveness of local businesses.
