Development of Research Management, Office of General Education, Mahasarakham University

Abstract

The present research aims to 1). study the context of the development of research management, 2). study the development process of research management, and 3). to study the results of the research management process of the Office of General Education,
Mahasarakham University. This study uses Participatory Action Research method to gather the information, which is classified into 4 procedures, 1. Planning, 2. Action, 3. Observe, and 4. Reflect. The results revealed as following. 1). The context of the development of research management under the implementation of General Education Office’s strategic plan in the fiscal year of 2021 has targeted five projects about research issue framework with the objectives to develop the staff’s research knowledge during 25 December 2021 to 30 September 2022. 2). According to the study of the development of research management process, it showed that exchanging knowledge enabled research grant recipients to know about the rules, regulations, guidelines relating to the research grant contracts, budgets of the Office of General Education, and research development guidelines to reflect problems, obstacles, and factors of success in doing research. 3). The results of the research management process indicated that the number of pending publications in national journal articles in the TCI2 database (online submissions) was significantly higher comparing to the data of
the research period over the past year. In conclusion, the research management development has resulted that General Education Office gained guidelines for developing research potential of the staff. For the readiness of the research work, it was suggested to promote cooperation with academic networks to develop knowledge and research potential of the staff in the future.
