A Short-term Training on Programmable Logic Controller for Interested Participants

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to (1) develop a short-term training program in basic programmable logic controller (PLC) programming and (2) examine the learning outcomes before and after short-term learning interventions on programming PLCs for individuals interested in the subject. The research adopts a quasi-experimental design, with the target group being individuals in the Rayong province who express interest in participating in short-term PLC programming training, involving a self-selection or voluntary application process. The study included 20 participants, and data collection tools comprised 8 lesson plans, a 50-item test, and statistical analysis using percentages, averages, and standard deviations.

The research findings revealed that: 1) The short-term training program on basic PLC programming for interested individuals is effective, with the efficiency of the learning management plan rated at 87.56/89.40 (E1/E2), surpassing the established criteria. 2) The post-learning test results, conducted with an emphasis on practical tasks using the learning management process, yielded an average score of 44.70 out of a full 50 points, indicating a significantly highest level of achievement.
