Abstract
This study attempted to investigate certain factors that influenced the effectiveness of risk management in the schools under jurisdiction of Kalasin Provincial Administration Organization Office, and construct prediction equations concerning the factors that affected the effectiveness of risk management in these schools. The samples of the study were 220 people comprising the administrators and the teachers from twelve different schools. The samples were selected by the stratified sampling technique. The research tool was a questionnaire composed of two parts including 1)certain factors affected the effectiveness of risk management in schools, and 2) the effectiveness of risk management in schools. This questionnaire comprised 72 questions. It obtained the discrimination ranging from .64 to .92 and the reliability of .99. The statistics employed were percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson product moment correlation, and stepwise multiple regression analysis.
It was found that:1) The factors: frequent supervision follow-up and evaluation (X5), organizational culture (X7), cooperation and unity of the staff (X4), supports from administrators (X1), effective communication (X3), personnel development on risk management (X6), and information technology for communication (X2) all had positive relations with the effectiveness of risk management, statistically significant at the .01 level.
2) The variables predicting the effectiveness of risk management in schools under jurisdiction of Kalasin Provincial Administration Organization Office consisted of frequent supervision follow-up and evaluation (X5), organizational culture (X7), supports from administrators (X1), and cooperation and unity of the staff (X4). Prediction ability of these variables was estimated 79.80%. The prediction equations could be shown as follows.
Raw Score Regression Equation
Y/ = .397 + .247 X5 + .334 X7 + .171 X1 + .150 X4
and Standardized Score Regression Equation
Z/Y = .302 Z5 + .335 Z7 + .205 Z1 + .162 Z4
