Development of Secondary School Students’ Desirable Characteristic, under the Office of Secondary Educational Service Area 26

Abstract
The objectives of this study were: 1) to study the problem situation of Secondary School Students’ Desirable Characteristics, under the Office of Secondary School Educational Service Area 26, 2) to construct the indicators of Secondary School Students’ Desirable Characteristics, under the Office of Secondary School Educational Service Area 26, 3) to construct and develop the Development Activity Package of Secondary School Students’ Desirable Characteristics, under the Office of Secondary School Educational Service Area 26, and 4) to try out the Development Activity Package of Secondary School Students’ Desirable Characteristics, under the Office of Secondary School Educational Service Area 26. There were classifying the research study into 4 phases of this study: Phase 1;The study of problem situation of Secondary School Students’ Desirable Characteristics. The samples using in this study were 315 school administrators, teachers, academic work head, head teachers of student affair, and Basic School Boards from 35 Secondary Schools, under jurisdiction of the Office of Secondary School Educational Service Area 26, Phase 2; The construction for indicators of Secondary School Students’ Desirable Characteristics, the samples were 37 school administrators, teachers, academic work head, head teachers of student affair, and Basic School Boards, Phase 3; The construction and development of the Development Activity Package of Secondary School Students’ Desirable Characteristics, the samples were 37 school administrators, teachers, academic work head, head teachers of student affair, and Basic School Boards, and Phase 4; The trying out of the Development Activity Package of Secondary School Students’ Desirable Characteristics, the samples were 293 school administrators, teachers, Basic School Boards, and target group. Then instruments using for data collection were the Questionnaire, the Interview Form, and the Evaluation Form. For Quantitative data analysis, it was performed by finding the Frequency, and Percentage. Then, presented in Descriptive Form. For Qualitative data analysis, it was performed by Content Analysis.
The research findings were as follows:
1. The findings of the problem situation of Secondary School Students’ Desirable Characteristics, under the Office of Secondary School Educational Service Area 26, found that the problem situation was in “High” level in every aspect ranking 3 orders of the importance with highest average value including: the discipline, the second order included the responsibility, and diligence as well as persistence in working.
2. The findings of construction for indicators of Secondary School Students’ Desirable Characteristics, under the Office of Secondary School Educational Service Area 26, found that 12 Desirable Characteristics, and 35 indicators were obtained.
3. The findings of the Development Activity Package of Secondary School Students’ Desirable Characteristics, under the Office of Secondary School Educational Service Area 26, in overall, the quality of Activity Package was in “Very Good,” level.
4. The findings of trying out the Development Activity Package of Secondary School Students’ Desirable Characteristics, under the Office of Secondary School Educational Service Area 26, found that the practice behavior was in “High” level in every aspect.
