Management of Higher Vocational Certificate Program, Department of Agricultural Development, in Animal Science for Agriculture and Technology Colleges in the Northern Region

Abstract

        The purpose of this research was to (1) study the management conditions of Higher Vocational Certificate Program, Department of Agricultural Development, in Animal Science for Agriculture and Technology Colleges in the Northern Region (2) study the management problems of Higher Vocational Certificate Program, Department of Agricultural Development, in Animal Science for Agriculture and Technology Colleges in the Northern Region (3) make suggestions for improvement in the management of Higher Vocational Certificate Program, Department of Agricultural Development, in Animal Science for Agriculture and Technology Colleges in the Northern Region.


        This research consisted of 115 random samples done by using Stratified Random Sampling. The research methods were rating scales and structured interview questionnaires developed by the researcher with has validity of 0.958. The statistics used for data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation and content analysis.


        This research’s findings revealed that (1) overall, the management condition of Higher Vocational Certificate Program in Animal Science for Agriculture and Technology Colleges for the Northern Region was at a moderate level (2) regarding the management problems of Higher Vocational Certificate Program n Animal Science for Agriculture and Technology Colleges for the Northern Region for administrators were: inability to plan and use academic curriculum effectively, and supervise teacher and teacher’s development; as for teachers: teachers’ management and supervision of the classroom and teacher development are limited (3) suggestions for improvement, the following were recommended: should continue to participate in network co-operation, develop and prepare more human resources in animal science; competency based curriculum, project based learning (PBL) and regular participation in the management of Higher Vocational Certificate Program in Animal Science should be established.
