Guidelines for the Development of the 21st CENTURY LEADERSHIP OF SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS UNDER RANGSIT CITY MUNICIPALITY, PATHUMTHANI

Abstract

The objectives of the study are as follows: 1) to study the current condition, desirable condition, and the needs for 21 century leadership of school administrators ;

2) to propose guidelines for the development of leadership in the 21st century of school administrators under Rangsit City Municipality, Pathumthani. The population and samples in the study were 150 teachers under Rangsit City Municipality. The sample size was determined using the ready-made Tables of Krejcie & Morgan (1970) with 108 subjects. The research instrument was a five-level estimation scale questionnaire: the current state questionnaire for 21 century leadership, consistency index of 0.600-1.000 and a questionnaire confidence value of 0.973. For 21% century leadership, a consistency index of 0.600-1.000 and a questionnaire confidence value of 0.982 and a semi-structured interview. The statistics used for data analysis consisted of percentile, mean, standard deviation, and Modified Priority Needs Index (PNI modified technique to prioritize the importance of needs.

The results showed that 1) regarding the current condition and desirable condition of the 21st century leadership feature of school administrators under Rangsit City Municipality, Pathumthani, the mean of the overall current condition is at a high level.

The mean of the desirable condition is at the highest level. When analyzing the needs for the development of 215 century leadership of school administrators under Rangsit City Municipality, Pathumthani, it was overall found that the school administrators have the following needs to develop leadership in the 21 century as follows: number one in creativity/innovation; number two in technology/digital skills and communication ; number three in cooperation ; number four in vision ; number five in confidence and courage ; number six in social skills; and number seven in empowerment/ motivation, and 2) guidelines for development of 21s century leadership of school administrators under Rangsit City Municipality, Pathumthani has seven areas, eighteen traits, and thirty nine approaches.
