Vol. 2 No. 2 (2025): May - August

Preface

Nowadays, Thailand faces significant corruption, so all levels of the government in Thailand need to be concerned about these issues; thus, corruption in government can be viewed as one of the most complex problems faced by political and economic systems around the globe. Corruption is generally defined as the use of public authority for private gain. It takes various forms, including bribery, fraud, embezzlement, nepotism, and other types of rent-seeking behavior (Rose-Ackerman & Palifka, 2016). Although corruption is not a new concept, its persistent existence in both developed and developing countries presents significant challenges in eliminating it. - The global costs of corruption are staggering, and the World Economic Forum (2018) estimated that $2.6 trillion is lost every year in corrupt acts, or 5% of global gross domestic product (GDP). Corruption has financial costs, but also leads to decreased trust in institutions, inefficient public services, and less overall economic growth in the long run.

These issues have four articles, as follows:

1. Disciplinary Competitions Promote College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship: A Case Study of International Economics and Trade.

and 4. The Impact of Destination Image on Tourist Behavior: A Case Study of Generation Y Tourists from Chengdu, China, Traveling to Thailand.

See you next issue.
